TYPES OF FALSE LASHES

Ever wonder what the difference is between the different lash types? Many of us were not born with fabulous lashes, so we give ourselves a lil (or a lot) of umph in the eyelash department by applying either strip lashes, or lash extensions (individual or volume fan).

Strip Lashes or temporary false lashes are attached to a band and applied with a temporary lash glue, just above your lash line, in one “strip.” The shape/size of the strip lash is pre-measured, so some trimming may be necessary. Even with the use of eyeliner, most strip lashes can be easily detected and can appear bulky. Strip lashes are typically worn and removed daily. These can be made of mink or synthetic hairs.

Lash Extensions are semi-permanent fibers that are applied one by one or fan by fan with a very strong non-irritating glue to your own eyelashes. This process could take up to a few hours for professional application. Extensions can cost upwards to $150 for a full set and $60-$80 for a fill, (depending on your geographical region). With proper care, lash extensions can last up to 6 weeks before they shed, refills are recommended every 2-3 weeks. Extensions can be made of synthetic, faux mink, mink or silk fibers.

Lash Inserts like Plume Lashes, are small, banded clusters of individual wispy lash fibers. The number of fibers within each lash insert determines whether it is a LITE lash insert or a BOLD lash insert. The band is ever so thin that it is undetected when placed under the natural lash.
